The Secretariat of Economic Law (SDE), Brazilian antitrust department, has confirmed that it raided producers of compressors for refrigeration in the states of Sao Paulo and Santa Catarina in a coordinated operation with the DOJ and the EC DG Comp. In Brazil, the dawn raid was conducted by more than 60 law enforcers, among federal police officers, public prosecutors, and attorneys from the SDE.

According to the SDE, the targets have fixed prices and shared sensitive commercial information through emails, phone calls, and meetings in hotels and restaurants. The investigations were triggered by a leniency agreement.
